Math + Dirt = Civil Work
Civil construction is an essential branch of civil engineering. Only a qualified grading and excavating contractor can properly read and spot irregular details in a civil set of plans. We take on every project with the intent to build per plan but if nuances arise that could compromise the jobsite's ability to support and withstand the stress of an infrastructure, we will not hesitate to bring it to the table for discussion. We think Civil Work is the most important scope of a build, but maybe we're biased.
So Cal Dirt Engineering is owned and operated by Scott Phillips, a So Cal native who's worked in the Southern California terrain since the age of 19 years old. With 21 years of hands-on experience working in the field and in Project Management, his post-secondary education truly is this industry.
Basic Civil scopes of work don't differ much, but all jobsites present different challenges. Our experience helps us foresee potential issues with scopes of work outside of our own. Bottom line, we want to bid all your projects and a "that's not my problem" attitude is not the way to build a lasting relationship.
We take a lot of pride in our work as a grading and excavating contractor and don't take on a project with the intention to eventually bill a ton of extras or slam clients with change orders. We have a saying around here and it is "we aren't looking to retire on any jobsite". Our job schedule is always booked out because we only operate with efficiency and integrity, in other words, we have to plan and execute projects perfectly so we can get offsite and move on to the next!
